According to Forbes, Jay-Z cemented his place at the head of the hip-hop world with being named one of 2011’s “Hip Hop Cash Kings.”
Straight off of the release of his collaborative project with Kanye West, Watch The Throne, the magazine ranked him at #1 among other stars such as Wiz Khalifa, Diddy, Eminem and Dr. Dre, among others.
With a 10-year $150 million record deal with Live Nation, his 40/40 club chain, as well his stakes in the New Jersey Nets, the artist brought in a reported $37 million this past year.
While this will mark the fourth year out of the last five that Jay-Z has made the list, it marks the first time that he has earned more than his wife Beyonce since their 2008 marriage. He is followed by Sean “Diddy” Combs, his Watch the Throne partner Kanye West at number 3.
