Cameron Jibril “Wiz Khalifa” Thomaz, recently named MTV’s “Hottest Breakthrough MC of 2010,” inked a record deal with Atlantic Records, as part of an agreement reached with Rostrum Records.
Hailing from Pittsburgh, PA, Khalifa first burst onto the scene with in 2005, with his mixtape, Prince Of The City: Welcome to Pistolvania. Releasing numerous mixtapes, Khalifa found a way to ignite the curiosity of his audience, helping pave his way to success. When he released his runaway success, Kush & Orange Juice, he stole the spotlight and attention, becoming a #1 trending topic on Twitter and #1 search topic on both Google and Yahoo!
Khalifa’s online presence is well-known, with 8 million profile views and approximately 30 millions plays on his official Myspace page. He has used the past five years to finesse his talent and has succeeded in creating a loyal fan-base.
He is currently working on his much-awaited label debut, which is expected to be released in early 2011.
His national tour, “Waken Baken Tour,” will begin on Thursday, September 16th at Philadelphia’s The Trocadero, running through late November.
