The Latest Urban Entertainment Related NewsShyne Reportedly Signs with Def Jam
Former Bad Boy rapper Shyne has reportedly signed a seven-figure agreement with Def Jam Records (Universal Music Group). The signing marks Shyne’s return to the same label that produced his 2004 album, Godfather Burried Alive.
Since the rapper’s release from prison and deportation to his native Belize last October, many label executives (Dr. Dre, Jimmy Levine, etc.) have attempted to swoon the rapper into signing with their respective music firms. With contract negotiations reportedly complete, the rapper will adhere to its conditions, calling for his work to be based out of London. Its buzzing Hip-Hop scene makes it a temporary fit while Shyne awaits approval back into the United States.
The rapper has been in headlines recently, after scoring an appearance on the DJ Khaled track “All My Life” (also featuring Akon & Mavado). The track has reportedly been scrapped from Khaled’s forthcoming project, Victory.
Shyne will be managed by HipHopSince1978, the same firm representing Drake, Jeezy, & Lil Wayne.
