Diamond Scheduled to Perform at SXSW

  • diamond, formerly of crime mobWith March just underway, Atlanta emcee and resident hitmaker, Diamond’s calendar is already packed with major performances. She will be featured twice this week on BET’s 106 & Park, and will showcase at South by Southwest Conferences and Festivals 2010 (SXSW), Friday March 19th at Victory Grill.

Diamond’s initial appearance on 106 & Park will take place March 10th; she will join Ludacris to present the remix to his smash single “My Chic Bad,” which she is featured on.  She’ll return to the show later as a guest judge of Freestyle Friday.  The following week the rapper will be in her 2nd home, Texas, performing in one of the coveted SXSW showcase slots. Diamond’s performance at SXSW will jumpstart a promotional campaign for the release of her latest mixtape project, Bitch Muzik 3, which also hits the Internet for download on March 9th.  The project features fan favorite, and her latest single, “Smash the Homies.”

The first quarter has proven to be very productive for Diamond and her new team.  Riding the momentum of her latest release, Superbad (produced by Cee-Lo), Diamond is busier than ever.  There is a rising demand for performance appearances and collaborations.  She was recently featured on Dorrough & DJ Drama’s Gangsta Grillz mixtape on the single “Quite Like Me.”  Recording, working both the Atlanta and Dallas markets as an indie artist, and performing at shows around the country occupies the vast majority of her time.  “I don’t have a lot of free time as of late, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

In November 2007, Diamond left the rap group Crime Mob to pursue her own solo career.
