Grammy-winning rap superstar/actor, Ludacris, and political commentator/controversial television host, Bill O’Reilly, have come to a common understanding on their respective ideologies.
“The first thing I said to him was, ‘I want to meet the guy who has had so much to say about me, but knows absolutely nothing about me.’ I identified that I wanted to speak to him when I saw his name on the guest list. I looked at what table he was on, and I walked my a** straight to that table. He wasn’t expecting to see me, at all. The look on his face when he saw me approaching… priceless. From there, we came to a common ground. To be honest with you, we came together and did an event for charity…”
Eight years have past since their rift began. O’Reilly was the voice behind Pepsi’s endorsement dismissal of Ludacris back in 2002. He demanded a boycott for the hiring of someone who “disrespects women, encourages drug use, and encouraged violence.” O’Reilly continued to portray Ludacris as “vile” and a “thug.”
Pepsi now utilizes ”The O’Reilly Factor” when deciding which pop stars are appropriate pop pitchmen and women.
Ludacris released his seventh studio album, Battles Of The Sexes, (courtesy of Def Jam Recordings) on Tuesday (3/9/09). It is lead by the single “How Low,” (produced by T-Minus). The single has peaked at #6 on the Billboard Hot 100 & #2 on the Billboard Rap & R&B/Hip-Hop charts.
