J French released a new single and video titled “Able,” returning with a record centered on perseverance, clarity and purpose, reflecting his current focus on self-mastery and faith.
“‘Able’ came from a place of clarity,” French said. “I wanted to create something that reminded people that everything they need to win is already inside them. The song and video show what happens when you stop doubting yourself and start moving with purpose.”
French directed the song and visual. Demetrius Shipp Sr. performs vocals in the video. Shipp Sr. is known for his production and engineering on 2Pac’s “Toss It Up” and work tied to B2K, Omarion, Bobby Brown, Teddy Riley, and early Kendrick Lamar and Ab-Soul. His son, Demetrius Shipp Jr., who portrayed Tupac Shakur in “All Eyez on Me,” appears on bass.
French previously released “Solo,” which became an NBA arena fixture and was the closing track of the NBA YouTube series “Pass the Rock.”
“It is not about being perfect. It is about showing up and being ready in mind, body, and spirit. That is what makes you able,” French said.
The video for “Able” is live. J French can be found at JFrenchForever.com.
