Chicago musicians and brothers, Aaron Sledge and BJ the Chicago Kid, have released their first official collaboration, the single “Masterpiece.”
The track blends gospel and soul influences with contemporary production, drawing on the roots that shaped both artists on the city’s South Side.
Sledge and BJ have built careers writing and performing for stars including Kendrick Lamar, Cardi B, Stevie Wonder, and Dr. Dre. They describe “Masterpiece” as a tribute to their shared upbringing and a signal of more projects ahead that spotlight Chicago’s musical heritage.
