Elle Duncan’s social media reply to an unprovoked attack from Jason Whitlock did not just land because it was snarky. It resonated.
She was somewhere, minding her business, writing a celebratory post about the impact of Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl LX halftime performance. “Woke up cheesing knowing somewhere this morning, a kid who saw themselves last night is walking into school a little taller. Pride and visibility is a nitrous pack.”
Never one to let an opportunity to prostrate himself for his right-wing fans, Whitlock couldn’t resist the opportunity to throw shade.
“This is how unintelligent people think the world works. They think seeing people of the same color on a TV or movie screen has real impact. Yeah, Asians dominate academia because they saw Bruce Lee in a karate movie. That’s it.”
But just when Whitlock clearly thought he ate, Duncan countered his poorly worded paragraph with one simple reply, writing, “Oh Jason I’m sure you can relate. It’s the same pride you probably felt when you saw Shrek for the first time!”
Needless to say, X users made time to laugh at Whitlock’s expense.
