Trinidad and Tobago artist Kalpee has released a new track, Everybody, in collaboration with production duo Full Blown. The release follows his recent performance at SXSW in London and adds to his growing reputation for blending genres, drawing notice from BBC Radio 1, BBC 1Xtra, Capital Xtra, Wonderland, and Notion.
The single arrives with a video directed by Grammy-winning filmmaker Damien Sandoval, known for work with Chris Brown, Kehlani, and Wiz Khalifa. Shot in California’s Mojave Desert, the visual pairs the desert’s sweeping landscapes with Kalpee’s energetic performance, matching the song’s hopeful tone.
Kalpee said the song came together naturally, describing it as “one of those songs that just poured out of me… no overthinking, no searching.” He explained that the lyrics, which reference “fire taking over my soul,” reflect the raw force of inspiration that cannot be controlled.
Beyond its sound, Everybody carries a message of unity. “We are all equal. We are one race, no one less than another, so send love to everybody,” Kalpee said. With its uplifting theme and Carnival-season timing, the song aims to serve as both an anthem and a movement.
