Las Vegas Aces Outlast Indiana Fever in Historic OT Game 5 to Reach Finals

The Las Vegas Aces secured their spot in the WNBA Finals after defeating the Indiana Fever 107-98 in overtime Friday night, capping a semifinal series that made league history.

It marked the first time in WNBA semifinal history that a decisive Game 5 went to overtime. The Aces’ victory sends the defending champions back to the Finals as they continue their bid for another title.

A’ja Wilson led Las Vegas with 35 points, eight rebounds, five assists, four steals, and four blocks. Jackie Young added 32 points and a playoff career-high 10 assists, knocking down four shots from beyond the arc. Chelsea Gray contributed 17 points, six assists, three steals, and two blocks.

The Fever pushed the Aces to the brink, forcing overtime with a late fourth-quarter rally. But Las Vegas took control in the extra period, holding Indiana to nine points while closing out the win.

The Aces’ “big three” accounted for 84 of the team’s 107 points, providing the offensive and defensive edge in the deciding game.

Las Vegas now advances to the Finals, where they will face the winner of the other semifinal series.
