Ledisi Honors Dinah Washington With New Rendition of “What a Difference a Day Made”

Singer Ledisi has released her take on “What a Difference a Day Made,” the classic song that earned Dinah Washington a Grammy Award in 1959. The release comes just ahead of what would have been Washington’s 101st birthday on Aug. 29.

The track is part of Ledisi’s upcoming album For Dinah, which will be out Oct. 3 on Candid Records. The project is produced by Christian McBride and Rex Rideout and celebrates Washington’s influence on generations of singers.

The album includes a duet with Gregory Porter, along with contributions from Paul Jackson Jr. and Michael King.

With this release, Ledisi honors Washington’s legacy while adding her own voice to one of music’s most enduring standards.
