Rodney Rogers, an NBA veteran who spent 12 seasons in the league, died Nov. 21, 2025. His death was linked to the spinal cord injury he sustained on Nov. 28, 2008. His family said he died “peacefully,” with his wife, Faye, at his side.
He is survived by his wife, Faye Rogers; his daughters, Roddreka and Rydiah; his sons, Rodney II and Devonte Rogers; Eric Hipilito, whom he considered a son; and his mother, Estelle Spencer.
His family said the years following his injury brought hardship and “profound” meaning, and that he remained “a light—positive, motivated, and full of quiet strength.”
The family thanked members of the NBA community for support over the years, including Purvis Short, Lupercia Ten, Leah Wilcox, Ron Klempner, and Anne Corry.
