NIKO IS has released “Satisfied Mind & Body,” the first single from his upcoming album The Optimist’s Son, which will be out soon through Javotti Media and Fat Beats. The track is produced by hip-hop artist J Rawls.
The song blends English, Spanish, and Portuguese with Niko’s signature style. Singer Ayanna Irish performs the chorus. In one verse, Niko raps, “God is great ‘cause He gave me a gift. And that gift made me safe and rich. But I’m rich in mind and experienced in health. That is the real definition of wealth.”
The video, directed by Chino Chase, shows Niko at The Ohio State University and comedian Dave Chappelle’s YS Firehouse venue.
NIKO IS was discovered by Talib Kweli and has developed a reputation for mixing sharp lyricism with global influences. The Optimist’s Son is expected later this year.
