Scream 7 Trailer Brings Ghostface Back to Sidney Prescott’s New Life

The first trailer for Scream 7 arrived this week, signaling the return of the franchise’s central figure and setting up a story that brings past and present into direct conflict.

According to the film’s official synopsis, “When a new Ghostface killer emerges in the quiet town where Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) has built a new life, her darkest fears are realized as her daughter (Isabel May) becomes the next target. Determined to protect her family, Sidney must face the horrors of her past to put an end to the bloodshed once and for all.”

The trailer places Sidney Prescott back at the center of the story after her absence from the previous installment. Now a parent, Sidney is shown living away from the events that defined her earlier years, until a new series of attacks draws her back into the cycle of threats and investigations tied to the Ghostface mask.

Isabel May joins the series as Sidney’s daughter, a role that shifts the stakes of the familiar cat-and-mouse structure. The trailer suggests that the killer’s focus on the next generation forces Sidney to confront the same patterns she once tried to escape, this time with more at risk than her own survival.

The Scream franchise, which debuted in 1996, has long revolved around the conflict between established characters and new victims.
