Urban electro-pop trio SIMIEN has released their debut single, “Utterly in Love,” through Akon’s newly relaunched Konvict Kulture label. The sibling group—Taédym, Jaiden, and Kamrein—draws from their Creole Louisiana and Native American heritage, blending gospel roots with a modern, self-produced sound.
Inspired by a real-life incident where a boy flirted with two sisters at once, the track calls for self-respect and sisterhood. “It’s about not settling for the bare minimum and knowing your worth,” the group said.
SIMIEN previously appeared on Akon’s “Never Really Mattered,” and now steps forward with original music and full creative control. Akon praised them as a standout act: “Haven’t met a group that gave me this feeling since Destiny’s Child.”
With mentorship from industry veterans including Teddy Riley, Debbie Allen, and Jermaine Dupri, SIMIEN is building its own legacy—starting with this bold, beat-driven debut.
