Stella Standingbear Drops New Single “Mmhmm” Ahead of Indigenous Peoples Day

Indigenous artist Stella Standingbear has released her latest single, “Mmhmm,” a freestyle-driven track showcasing her rising influence in alternative rap and R&B.

The release follows a string of high-profile appearances and collaborations, including features with Trippie Redd and coverage from DAZED, MTV, Hot 97, 4ShootersOnly, Apple Music’s Ebro Show, and On the Radar Radio. The music video for “Mmhmm” has drawn close to 1,000,000 views within days of release.

Standingbear, a two-time Native American Music Award winner and the first artist to earn two honors at the 2023 Indigenous Hip-Hop Awards, continues to merge Indigenous identity with contemporary sounds. With more than 500,000 followers and chart success on SiriusXM’s NCI FM Indigenous Music Countdown, she is gaining recognition for hits such as “SKODEN” and “Home Runs.”

The release of “Mmhmm” comes just ahead of Indigenous Peoples Day on Oct. 13, highlighting Standingbear’s role in bringing Indigenous artistry into mainstream music.
