R&B sister duo The Amours, Jakiya and Shaina, have released a new single, “Clarity,” marking the beginning of their next musical chapter. Produced by their frequent collaborator Camper, the song explores themes of honesty, self-respect, and personal growth. “Clarity” is the first preview of their upcoming project, Girls Will Be Girls, scheduled for release on Aug. 15.
The song focuses on the importance of clear communication and recognizing personal value in relationships. The Amours describe it as a message for people seeking meaningful connections.
“‘Clarity’ is for the true yearners. As you all know, we’re lover girls for real! And we can attest that all we truly want is for the love that our hearts’ desire to be as clear as possible,” the duo said in a statement. “Especially, when you know your worth and you don’t want to waste your time carrying avoidable emotional damage.”
The sisters also said the single and the upcoming album reflect a deeper sense of openness in their music.
“We’re excited for you all to witness us dive into a different level of vulnerability with ‘Clarity,’ along with the songs on our upcoming album,” they said. “Cheers to accepting nothing less than Clarity in your relationships and putting yourself first!”
Girls Will Be Girls is set for release Aug. 15. “Clarity” is available to stream below.
