Warriors Defeat Lakers 119-109 in Los Angeles Season Opener

The Golden State Warriors opened their season with a 119-109 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday night, powered by a strong performance from Jimmy Butler III.

Butler scored a team-high 31 points to go along with five rebounds and four assists, setting the tone for Golden State’s offense. Stephen Curry added 23 points on 6-of-14 shooting, including 3-for-9 from beyond the arc, while also contributing four assists.

Golden State controlled much of the second half after trading baskets early with Los Angeles. The Warriors’ balanced scoring and efficient ball movement helped them maintain the edge down the stretch.

Despite the loss, Luka Dončić delivered a standout performance for the Lakers, finishing with 43 points and 12 rebounds. His effort kept Los Angeles competitive throughout the night, but Golden State’s depth proved decisive in the final minutes.

The win gives the Warriors a 1-0 start to the season, while the Lakers fall to 0-1. Both teams will continue their early-season schedules later this week as the Warriors look to build on their opening victory and the Lakers aim to bounce back from the loss.
