UNINTERRUPTED, Indeed, and LeBron James Launch National Skills-First Hiring Campaign

UNINTERRUPTED, the storytelling brand created by LeBron James and Maverick Carter within Fulwell Entertainment, announced a partnership with global hiring platform Indeed and the LeBron James Family Foundation to launch a national campaign promoting skills-first hiring.

The effort aims to equip job seekers with the tools and resources to effectively showcase their abilities, regardless of their educational background or work history. The collaboration aligns with Indeed’s mission to help people find employment while advancing equity and career mobility.

The campaign begins with a national commercial narrated by broadcaster Ernie Johnson Jr. The spot reflects on what happens when hard work goes unrecognized, framing the story through James’ own path in basketball. The message underscores the reality that many job seekers face when their skills are overlooked.

“In the work my Foundation does to support families with resources like education and job training, we’ve seen how people can thrive when they’re given an opportunity,” James said. “I’m excited about this campaign with UNINTERRUPTED and Indeed, which will hopefully open more doors for people to have that chance to show their skills and experience, which is incredibly valuable.”

James Whitemore, chief marketing officer of Indeed, said the partnership underscores the value of practical ability. “We believe people should be hired for what they can do, not just their credentials,” he said. “By teaming up with UNINTERRUPTED and the LeBron James Family Foundation, we’re using the power of storytelling to highlight how lived experience and practical skills can lead to real career opportunities — and giving people the resources to seize them.”

The campaign will expand Oct. 1 with the launch of The Main Thing, a four-part limited series hosted by James on UNINTERRUPTED’s YouTube channel. Guests include skateboarder Tony Hawk, entertainer Teyana Taylor, digital creator Marques Brownlee (MKBHD), and designer Melody Ehsani. Each episode explores how skill, creativity, and determination create opportunities outside of traditional credentials.

Additional efforts include:

  • Integrating Indeed’s job-matching technology, training, and career tools with LJFF’s programs.
  • Launching an online job seeker resource portal through Indeed’s Job Seeker Academy in October.
  • Hosting an in-person job event at House Three Thirty in Akron, Ohio, with workshops on skills training and career development.

The initiative aims to expand access to employment and highlight the value of practical skills in today’s job market.
