The “Rooted In Rhythm” showcase will bring country music talent and community art together Oct. 18 at District 121 in McKinney.
The event runs from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. and will feature performances from artists including Pynk Beard, Maurice The Music, Amira Unplugged, Elsie, The Kentucky Gentlemen, Valerie Ponzio, Squeezebox Bandits, and Adrian Garza.
Wade College student Olivia Clark is set to create live art during the event. Organizers say the showcase is designed to highlight multiple art forms. Bridgette Jones, executive director of the Millennial Maven Creative Foundation, said, “This event is a true celebration of community and the arts, where we come together to appreciate the varied talents that enrich our lives.”
The showcase is supported by sponsors such as Credit Union of Texas, Red Bull, Lane Boots, McKinney Community Development Corporation, Still Austin, The Guitar Sanctuary, Gibson Guitars, Teleport Watches, and Mur Mur. Community partners include the Dallas Black Chamber of Commerce, Dallas Nomad, Dallas Weekly, and Brownstyle Magazine.
Tickets start at $40, with family packages of four available for $100. A kid zone hosted by the YMCA of McKinney will include activities for children. A $65 Rodeo Party Bus ticket option offers shopping with Lane Boots and Rancher Hat Bar before the concert, along with breakfast and drinks.
A portion of ticket sales will fund instruments and creative supplies for children and women who lost them in natural disasters, organizers said.
