The Global Gaming League (GGL) turned WePlay Studios in Los Angeles into a star-studded arena Friday as Howie Mandel’s Howie Do It Gaming went head-to-head with Philadelphia’s GillieDaKing & Wallo267’s Million Dollaz Gaming in the highly anticipated SZN ZRO showdown.
Fans, celebrities, and media packed the venue for a night blending gaming, music, sports, and pop culture. UFC fighters, WWE stars, musicians, and reality TV personalities rubbed elbows on the red carpet with team owners and players before the first game even began. Notable attendees included Impractical Jokers’ Joe Gatto, comedian Affion Crockett, UFC fighter Ode Osbourne, boxer Chase DeMoor, Dave co-star GaTa, and Gym Class Heroes frontman Travie McCoy.
Inside, the competition was fierce. Mandel brought his signature unpredictability, while GillieDaKing & Wallo267 kept the arena roaring with nonstop banter and on-screen chemistry. Fans cheered, debated plays, and celebrated every clutch moment as the teams battled across Tetris, Tekken, and Thrill of the Fight 2.
The halftime show delivered its own headline moment. Travie McCoy energized the crowd with a festival-style performance, merging music nostalgia with high-energy theatrics and sing-along moments that reinforced GGL’s mission: gaming, culture, and entertainment on one stage.
The winning team advances to the April 9 championship match against NE-YO’s GNTLMNS Gaming for the SZN ZRO title and a $50,000 prize. Mandel said of his involvement: “More people around the world are actually playing video games than watching any other form of entertainment.”
For fans who missed the live event, the showdown premieres on YouTube March 9 at 12 p.m. EST. With celebrity-owned teams, live audiences, and high-energy competition, GGL is proving it’s more than a league—it’s a cultural movement where EVERYBODY GAMES.
