Jalen Brunson scored 26 points and added six assists as the New York Knicks defeated the Philadelphia 76ers 108-102 on Thursday night to take a 2-0 lead in the series.
Brunson shot 9 for 21 from the field and hit 1 of 5 attempts from 3-point range for New York, which held off a late push from Philadelphia to protect home court.
The Knicks controlled much of the second half and maintained their advantage behind timely scoring and defensive stops down the stretch. New York capitalized on key possessions in the final minutes to keep the 76ers from completing a comeback.
Tyrese Maxey led Philadelphia with 26 points, shooting 9 for 23 from the floor and 1 for 6 from beyond the arc. The 76ers struggled to find consistent offense late as the Knicks closed out the win.
New York now heads into the next game with a 2-0 edge in the series.
