Advance Screening of Smurfs Brings Excitement to New York Families

Families and community groups in New York City got a special treat with an advance screening of Smurfs held on July 12th at AMC Lincoln Square. Guests were invited to experience the movie days ahead of its national release, with the screening open to select organizations across the city.

Attendees gathered at the theater early, as seating was first-come, first-served. The event created an exciting atmosphere as children and families anticipated the animated adventure on the big screen.

Writer Lis Bryant, who attended an early screening, shared her impressions: “This past weekend, we were invited to an early screening of Smurfs hosted by the voice of Brainy Smurf, Xolo Maridueña.

Snacks and refreshments were available, along with the opportunity to contribute Smurf-inspired art for their gallery and collaborative mural.”

Bryant added, “The movie brings you on a wild adventure that takes you on a journey everyone must go through, one of self-discovery and courage, as the Smurfs race to save Papa Smurf from evil wizard Razamel. With a star-studded cast, the movie also debuts new music from Rihanna, who plays the voice of Smurfette. With bright adventures, clever comedy, and a fun soundtrack, there’s something for all members of the family to enjoy.”

Smurfs opens in theaters nationwide on July 18.
