If you are looking for something different, he’s your artist. His unique blend of hip hop with R&B influenced harmonies sets him a part from the rest. Whether singing or rapping, Jay Jefe has bars.

When did you start performing? Soon as I graduated high school! I have always been a lover of words, essays, and telling experiences from my life… One of my closest friends, Cal, has been rapping since he was a kid. Our freshman year of college, he would read me all his verses, and I instantly grew an addiction to the art and deep word play.

Name some of the artists who have inspired or influenced you: The biggest influence on me yet, hands down, is Joey BadAss. Meeting him added a lot more reason as to why I want to pursue a career as a music artist. We’re the same age, but I remember downloading his freshman tape in high school, and telling myself we would cross paths one day. After seeing what he could accomplish at such a young age, motivated me to go way harder!

How would you describe your style? I always describe my music as a New School, Hip Hop and R&B sound.

What separates you from other artists? My versatility, and confidence. Maybe it’s just my swag, but when it comes to my music I never back down from expressing myself. You tell me to spit, I’m giving you the hottest 32 right on cue!

What advice would you offer other aspirating artists? The best advice I could give any upcoming artists is be yourself. No one is looking for a replica of what’s already popping, be a trend-setter not a wave rider! Push the envelope, and sharpen your craft everyday.

Any shout outs? The whole FMGVB3 coalition, Yung Pops, Ty The Sound Guy, Mykey, and everybody gunning for me accomplishing my goals! Thank you!
