Bianca Batlle-Nguema Announces New Exhibition, Non-Objectification

World renowned visual artist Bianca Batlle-Nguema is taking on the objectification of women with her latest art exhibit.

Objectification has been described as a procedure of dehumanizing a person with complete disregard for their feelings and overall wellbeing. When the subject is a woman, she is treated like an item to be used for sexual pleasure or fulfillment.

As a woman, Batlle-Nguema feels a responsibility to champion the women who came before her while bringing attention to social issues through her artistry.

“I feel like, in every brushstroke I take, I am honoring my predecessors, honoring their struggle, recognizing their extraordinary strength, and, ultimately, contributing to the healing of their trauma. I love exploring the contrast between light and shadow. All of us, inside us, are made of light and shadow.”

Curated by esteemed publicist/art connoisseur Nickie Robinson, the assortment of art tackles the way society objectifies women in most aspects of life, but especially social media and visual art.

“We as women don’t want to have to hide our femininity or our natural form to be valued, especially when hard work is the backbone and dues have been paid. We want to embody everything that is us and just be,” Robinson explains in an Instagram post announcing the exhibit.

Featured in a virtual gallery, Bianca Batlle-Nguema’s Non-Objectification art exhibit is currently available for viewing around the globe.
