Bruno Mars opened his long-awaited “The Romantic Tour” on Friday night with a sold-out performance at Allegiant Stadium, marking his first full headline tour in nearly a decade.
The 16-time GRAMMY winner delivered a set that spanned his catalog while introducing material from his new album, The Romantic, released Feb. 27 via Atlantic Records. The show opened with three tracks from the project—”Risk It All,” “Cha Cha Cha,” and “On My Soul”—setting the tone for a production that blended live instrumentation with theatrical staging.
Backed by a 12-piece band, Mars reworked several hits, including “24K Magic,” while “Perm” and “Finesse” received updated arrangements. A theatrical sequence during “Why You Wanna Fight” featured storm effects and a lowrider crossing the stage, underscoring the concert’s cinematic direction.
Midway through the performance, Mars reunited with Anderson .Paak for a Silk Sonic segment, their first live appearance together outside of their 2022 Las Vegas residency. The duo performed five songs, including “Blast Off,” “Smokin’ Out the Window,” and the chart-topping “Leave The Door Open.”
The opening night also featured a set from GRAMMY winner Leon Thomas, who performed selections from his latest release, MUTT. Additional tour dates will include appearances by Victoria Monét and RAYE.
The concert followed a day of tributes across Las Vegas. Clark County officials declared April 10 as “Bruno Mars Day,” accompanied by a parade along the Strip and a ceremony at Toshiba Plaza. Mars received a key to the Las Vegas Strip, presented by state and local leaders including Nevada Gov. Joe Lombardo.

In a separate honor, a stretch of Park Avenue was renamed Bruno Mars Drive, placing him among entertainers such as Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra recognized with street dedications. The acknowledgment reflects Mars’ long-running presence in Las Vegas, including a residency that has drawn more than 800,000 attendees.
“Bruno Mars isn’t just a global superstar—he’s one of the most electrifying performers of our time,” said Bill Hornbuckle, CEO and president of MGM Resorts International. “It’s only fitting that we help launch his world tour here today as we honor his extraordinary impact on Las Vegas.”
During the ceremony, Mars announced a $1 million donation to the future Intermountain Health Nevada Children’s Hospital, supporting pediatric care and expanded services for families across the region.
Fan events leading up to the opening included a Hello Kitty collaboration pop-up and themed experiences across the city. The activation will travel to select tour stops in North America.
“The Romantic Tour” includes nearly 80 dates across North America and Europe. Organizers said the outing set a Live Nation record for single-day ticket sales and moved 2.1 million tickets in one day through Ticketmaster.
The tour follows the release of The Romantic, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200—Mars’ first album to open atop the chart. The project also reached No. 1 on global charts from Apple and Spotify, led by singles including “I Just Might” and “Risk It All.”
Bruno Mars is scheduled to perform a second night in Las Vegas before the tour moves to Glendale, Arizona, next week.
