DJ Vlad Addresses Roc Nation Satire And Conspiracy Claims

Media personality DJ Vlad said he posted a satirical message about Roc Nation to test how quickly online users would accept false claims that support conspiracy theories.

“My point for posting this was to show how people will believe any outrageous lie that someone says to prove their own conspiracy theory,” Vlad wrote. “I proved my point. I know that a lot of people will take this post and create a new narrative that Jay-Z forced me to do this. He did not. Nobody from Roc Nation reached out to me because they saw it was obvious satire.”

Jay-Z founded Roc Nation. Vlad’s post circulated on social platforms, where users debated whether the comments were serious or staged.

The online exchange unfolded against the backdrop of the criminal case involving Tory Lanez and Megan Thee Stallion. Lanez was convicted in 2022 in Los Angeles in connection with the 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion and is serving a prison sentence.

Vlad said Lanez’s attorneys contacted him after the satirical post gained traction.

“Tory’s legal team reached out to me to see if there were any actual facts in my post, and I told them it was all sarcasm,” he wrote. “They did tell me they filed some legal documents with the State Supreme and Superior Courts and are waiting for a reply. Although I’ve always believed that Tory shot Megan, I also feel that at this point, Tory has paid his debt to society, and I hope he gets an early release.”

Court records show Lanez was sentenced in 2023 to 10 years in prison after being found guilty on felony charges tied to the shooting. His legal team has pursued appeals and other post-conviction motions.

Vlad’s remarks highlight the role satire and misinformation play in digital spaces, where posts can move across platforms within minutes and take on new meaning as users add commentary.
