Breakout R&B recording artist Gabby Samone will perform at the upcoming Best of the Apollo showcase, organizers announced.

The event, co-presented by The Apollo Theater and the Howard Theatre, is scheduled for Sunday, April 26, 2026, at the Howard Theatre.

The lineup includes Matthew Whitaker, Wé Ani, Black Alley, and Grammy Award-winning hip-hop duo Clipse.

Samone, a Baltimore-born vocalist, will take the stage following the release of her debut single, Complicated. Her set is expected to feature original material along with cover songs that drew attention during her run on American Idol.

Samone rose to national prominence as a top-seven finalist on the show. She has also performed at the Apollo Theater and appeared on The Jennifer Hudson Show and The Kelly Clarkson Show, where she debuted “Complicated.”

Her vocal ability and stage presence have drawn praise from artists including Mariah Carey, Jennifer Hudson, Missy Elliott, Fantasia, J. Cole, Jhené Aiko, Brandy, SWV, and Xscape.

Best of the Apollo highlights emerging and established artists tied to the Apollo’s legacy, bringing its showcase to audiences beyond New York.
