The Global Gaming League will debut its first year-round competition series, “SZN Zero,” later this month in Las Vegas. The league, backed by entertainment executive Clinton Sparks and Grammy-winning artist T-Pain, bills itself as the first multi-title, live-action gaming entertainment league where professional gamers, influencers, and casual players compete side-by-side before live audiences and online viewers worldwide.
Teams will battle in titles ranging from Call of Duty and Rocket League to Tetris and Street Fighter. Each match will feature two celebrity-owned teams of four players — a mix of influencers, actors, athletes, artists, and gamers — facing off across four different game genres. Events will include star hosts, halftime performance,s and a November championship at the Palms resort and casino. The next season, “SZN One,” is set for 2026.
The season opener on Aug. 23 will pit T-Pain’s Nappy Boy Grizzlies against Ne-Yo’s Gentleman’s Gaming Team. The matchup follows months of social media exchanges over who is the better Tekken player.

“We wanted to build something that brought gamers from different backgrounds and cultures together in a unique way that was equally fun and competitive,” Sparks said in a statement. “With SZN Zero, we will introduce an authentic and relatable form of entertaining competition that will converge music, fashion, celebrity, and culture.”
T-Pain, the league’s director of strategy and first team owner, said he is ready to settle the score with Ne-Yo. “Now, folks will just have to see what happens on Aug. 23 when we face off in Las Vegas at the GGL SZN Zero launch,” he said.
Ne-Yo said his challenge was partly in response to being ignored. “When he kept blowing me off and then I saw that video of him talking about my lips, I decided the only way to get his attention would be to call him out,” he said.
The league held a preseason event featuring T-Pain and Bryce Hall, co-hosts Nick Cannon and Jermaine Dupri, and a halftime show by Soulja Boy. Sparks said the GGL’s structure is designed to bring returns for investors, create authentic opportunities for brands and celebrities, and give gamers a path to professional recognition.
