Canadian vocalist and songwriter KHAY is stepping into a new chapter with the release of her four-track EP, “Falling Into the Truth.”
Released Oct. 16, the project brings together KHAY’s background in theater and performance with her work as an independent recording artist. The EP features “Walls,” “Lie,” “Alone,” and “Broken,” with each song addressing vulnerability, relationships, identity, and personal change.
KHAY celebrated the release Oct. 17 with a sold-out theatrical concert at Aki Studio in Toronto. The show gave audiences a chance to experience the songs through live vocals, storytelling, and movement, extending the themes of the EP beyond the recordings.
Musically, “Falling Into the Truth” blends soul influences with alternative pop-rock as KHAY explores what it means to confront difficult emotions and find confidence in one’s own voice. Across the four songs, she examines moments of isolation, emotional conflict, self-reflection, and acceptance.
The project also represents another evolution in a career that has taken KHAY from Broadway to Carnegie Hall and film.
She was an original Broadway cast member of the Tony Award-winning musical “Ragtime” and later performed in “Fosse The Musical” and “Chicago.” Her performance credits also include Carnegie Hall and the Academy Award-winning film adaptation of “Chicago.”
Throughout her career, KHAY has shared the stage with performers including Julie Andrews, Liza Minnelli, Glenn Close, and Chita Rivera.
While those experiences established her as a performer, “Falling Into the Truth” gives KHAY an opportunity to place her own songwriting and perspective at the center of the work.
As an independent artist, she is building a musical identity rooted in personal experience and emotional honesty. The EP’s themes reflect the process of letting go of expectations, facing uncomfortable truths, and becoming more comfortable with who you are.
The sold-out Toronto concert marked a milestone in that transition, bringing together KHAY’s theatrical background and her work as a recording artist in one setting.
With “Falling Into the Truth,” KHAY is no longer simply interpreting someone else’s material. She is telling her own story.
“Falling Into the Truth” is available now on major streaming platforms.
