A couple of seasons ago on Love & Hip Hop New York we were introduced to the craziest love triangle involving a rapper, a girlfriend/ baby mama, and a former R&B singer trying to re-up her career. Those three are Peter Gunz, Amina Buddafly, and Tara Wallace.
Tara Wallace was the girlfriend/ baby mama. She and Peter were not married, but they had been living together for years. The story is they met each other while Peter was in a relationship with another woman. Tara played the side chick role until she could finally have Peter to herself. She then birthed two of his kids in the process of them trying to live happily ever after. The problem was Peter started cheating on her.
The amount of times Peter cheated was not announced, but after becoming part of the LHHNY cast, Peter made the cruelest move possible. He made his latest side chick Amina Buddafly his wife without informing Tara. According to the cameras, Amina didn’t initially know about Tara, but didn’t seem to care about her feelings either. Amina was only concerned about her own feelings. We were all staring at Vh1 just waiting for the moment Tara found out and cut Peter off for good because clearly she was never going to become Mrs. Pankey. Since reality television is entertainment, it didn’t go down that way.
After all is said and done, you would think Tara has gotten the message, but she is still holding on to Peter. She’s holding on so tight that in a preview of next season of LHHNY a huge argument happens between Tara and Amina while Peter tries to get away from the craziness. Peter is running because Tara has just reclaimed her side chick thrown.
While we are not sure what all Tara and Amina is arguing about, we do know that they shout the word side chick at each other. We also know Tara is now real life pregnant with Peter’s 3rd child from her.
Eve once did a song called “Love Is Blind,” but Tara is taking the blindness to new heights. It’s almost like she is very comfortable being one of Peter’s lovers, even if he is not treating her like his main woman. Is it possible that Tara has put herself in the position of forever being a side chick?
