London-born, Los Angeles-based artist Lamar, known as @lamar_hype, emerged as an international sensation during his inaugural solo performance at Live & Unfiltered’s pre-Rolling Loud event at Soho Works in West Hollywood. The audience, comprised of fellow artists, influencers, and industry executives, bore witness to Lamar’s groundbreaking performance.
During his set, Lamar, previously recognized as a member of the UK ensemble Now United, transcended expectations with a display of vocal prowess and stage magnetism. Performing a curated selection of seven tracks, Lamar wowed the crowd with renditions including “Coco Roll,” “Already Knowin’,” and a soulful interpretation of Al Green’s classic “Let’s Stay Together.” A highlight of the evening was his collaboration with Asia on “Rendevouz,” leaving attendees electrified. Lamar concluded his performance with the crowd-favorite “Bop Bop,” earning a resounding standing ovation.
This event marked Lamar’s official foray into a solo career, a transition he greeted with gratitude and emotion. Expressing heartfelt appreciation, Lamar attributed his success to his mother and the opportunity to pursue his dreams. “You guys don’t know how much this means to me,” Lamar shared in a tearful speech. “To have a dream and have the opportunity to pursue it. I thank my mom… I don’t think I would be who I am or where I am if it wasn’t for her.”
Looking ahead, Lamar is poised to embark on a five-stop tour in Brazil alongside EMBLEM3 (@emblemthree). Meanwhile, fans eagerly anticipate Lamar’s forthcoming musical endeavors, as he promises an abundance of new records to enjoy. “There’s more records to sell… More records to write. More records to produce,” Lamar excitedly declared, hinting at the vibrant future awaiting his solo career.
