Federal prosecutors have charged rapper Pooh Shiesty, born Lontrell Williams Jr., in connection with an alleged kidnapping and armed robbery involving fellow rapper Gucci Mane, according to court records unsealed Thursday.
The indictment alleges that Williams and several co-defendants lured the victims to a Dallas recording studio in January under the pretense of a business meeting tied to a music contract dispute.
Once inside, prosecutors say the situation escalated into a coordinated armed confrontation. Victims were allegedly held at gunpoint, prevented from leaving and forced to surrender valuables, including cash and jewelry.
Authorities also allege that at least one victim was coerced into signing documents relinquishing business interests while under threat of violence.
The charging documents do not publicly name Gucci Mane as a victim but include identifying details that align with the Atlanta-based artist, whose legal name is Radric Davis. His representatives have not issued a public statement.
Williams, 25, was already serving a federal sentence related to a prior firearms conviction and was on supervised release at the time of the alleged incident, prosecutors said.
He and multiple co-defendants face charges including kidnapping, conspiracy, and use of a firearm during a violent crime. If convicted, they could face lengthy prison terms, including possible life sentences.
An attorney for Williams did not immediately respond to a request for comment. It was not clear how many defendants have entered pleas.
The case has drawn attention due to the prior professional relationship between the two artists. Williams rose to prominence after signing to Gucci Mane’s record label in 2020.
Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing. No trial date has been announced.
