Texas Influencer “Cash Cartier” Sentenced To 75 Years In Fatal Assault Of Girlfriend

A Texas social media influencer with a documented history of violence against women was sentenced to 75 years in prison after admitting he fatally assaulted his girlfriend in a 2023 attack that prosecutors described as prolonged and deliberate.

Kaleb Mickens, 34, known online as “Cash Cartier,” pleaded guilty to first-degree aggravated assault involving family violence in the death of Sheila Cuevas, according to the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office.

Authorities said Cuevas died Oct. 8, 2023, after Mickens assaulted and drugged her. Prosecutors said the injuries she sustained during the attack led to her death.

Mickens initially attempted to shift blame for the killing, telling investigators that his dog was responsible for the fatal injuries. Officials said that claim was later contradicted by evidence gathered during the investigation. The dog was euthanized days after the incident.

Under the terms of the plea agreement, Mickens received a 75-year prison sentence. Prosecutors said the length of the sentence reflected both the severity of the crime and Mickens’ prior history of violence against women.

According to the District Attorney’s office, several women claimed that he abused, mistreated, and/or sexually assaulted them during their relationships.

They also stated that the case highlights the risks associated with domestic violence and the importance of holding perpetrators accountable.

Cuevas’ death adds to a broader pattern of intimate partner violence cases in the region, which officials say remain a persistent public safety concern.

No additional details about prior incidents involving Mickens were immediately released.
