New R&B artist Parrish Allen has released his debut single, “Bed,” produced by viral musician Hasani. The track offers a sound that feels familiar to fans of ‘90s R&B, inspired by artists like Dave Hollister, Tank, and Musiq Soulchild.
Allen is from Harlem and says he wants to bring love, connection, and meaning back into music. His sound mixes classic soul with a modern style, creating a song that reflects both past and present.
“I want a song that is sexy. That brings back men loving their woman down and valuing her,” Allen said. “It’s a song that will make a woman want to sleep with her man, only with the agreement, he’ll have to work for it and not just get it on the first night. He’s gonna have to wine and dine, take her out, and treat her like she’s number one.”
“Bed” is the first single from Allen’s upcoming album, I Am Parrish (Deluxe), a 13-track project focused on emotion, storytelling, and real R&B. A music video for the single, directed by Polo Gibson, is on the way.
Though this is his first official release, music has always been part of Allen’s life. He grew up in a family filled with soul music and was inspired by his mother and uncles. His choice to pursue music professionally came after a conversation with his nephew, Hasani, who told him, “Let’s do it.”
“Bed” is now available on all major streaming platforms.
