A community book signing with award-winning filmmaker and author Nadhege is set for Nov. 8 at Grandma’s Place in Harlem.
Nadhege is the creator of the short film “Paris Blues in Harlem,” featured in the PBS Online Film Festival. She returns with “Paris & Pop-Pop,” described as a children’s book series that “celebrates legacy, love, and Harlem life.” Her work has been featured on Showtime, PBS, CBS and NBC.
The event is in partnership with Grandma’s Place, Marcus Meets Malcolm, and Real Dads Network.
Organizers say the Saturday program is tied to the #MakeGrandfatherGreatAgain social movement. According to the announcement, “The initiative promotes programs designed to strengthen the presence of men as healthy, nurturing figures in the home, community, and society.”
The event will include a community food drive. Canned and dry-goods donations collected onsite will go to Mt. Olivet Baptist Church and Emmanuel AME Church.
The signing will run from 12 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. at Grandma’s Place, 84 West 120th Street.
