McDonald’s partnered with the D’USSÉ Fridays kickoff celebration at Mr. Ivy in Philadelphia to help launch the 2026 Roots Picnic Weekend, bringing together figures from entertainment, business, sports, and culture for an evening centered on music, community, and connection.
The exclusive event drew a crowd that included Deon Cole, Lenny S, Allen Iverson, Jermaine Dupri, Fabolous, Adam Blackstone, Rory Farrell, Bryan-Michael Cox, Kenny Burns, DIXSON, GoGo Morrow, Melissa Butler of The Lip Bar, Brandon Blackwood, Bri Steves, Tre-Way, Young Chris, and Neef Bucks, among others.

As guests gathered to celebrate the start of Roots Picnic Weekend, McDonald’s offered several of its signature menu items, including Chicken McNuggets®, World Famous Fries®, and ice cream treats. The food offerings became a focal point throughout the evening, sparking conversations and memories among attendees.
The event served as an early highlight of one of the nation’s prominent music and culture weekends. Organizers said the partnership reflected McDonald’s continued presence in spaces that celebrate Black creativity, entrepreneurship, music, and culture.
