Rising West Coast rapper AZ Chike has released his latest single, “Packed Up,” a collaboration with Grammy-winning producer Hit-Boy that arrives alongside a cinematic music video paying tribute to Houston’s culture and influence.
Released Friday through Warner Records, the track marks AZ Chike’s first major release since a breakout year that helped elevate the Los Angeles native among a new generation of West Coast rap artists.
Produced by Hit-Boy, “Packed Up” blends booming drums, brass-driven melodies, and elements of California hip-hop with touches of Houston’s chopped-and-screwed sound. The song showcases Chike’s confident delivery and reflections on independence and perseverance as his profile continues to rise.
The video was directed by Stacking Memories and features scenes filmed in Houston. The visual incorporates landmarks and cultural elements associated with the city, including the downtown skyline, a slab lowrider, and a marching band performing on a football field.
The footage also includes an appearance by Houston rap veteran Trae Tha Truth, underscoring the city’s influence on the project.
“Packed Up” is available now on major streaming platforms.
