On Wednesday, Apple Music announced that music mogul Dj Khaled will be their first ‘artist-in-residence.’ Khaled will now have control over the streaming service’s most popular playlists, with assistance from their team.
Since 2015, Apple Music has accumulated millions of subscribers in over 100 countries and includes over 50 million songs.
Khaled took to Instagram to express his gratitude, he stated, “Bless up Apple Music for making me the very first artist-in-residence ever.”
“This means I’m going to be taking over the biggest playlists on the platform every month! Also, the goal is to break new artists in the process. All record labels and artists hit me up. This month, we’re going to start with Office DJ and then I might hit y’all with a Gymflow playlist vibe next month” he added.
Aside from this endeavor, DJ Khaled will continue to run his radio show, ‘We The Best Radio,’ one of the longest-running shows to be fronted by an artist on Apple Music’s universal live stream.
