Bill Cosby has officially been charged with sexually assaulting a Temple University employee named Andrea Constrand 12 years ago.
According to law enforcement, the alleged crime took place in his home in suburban Philadelphia.
Constrand alleges that Cosby drugged her then forced his hands down her pants and fondled her.
The former District Attorney Bruce L. Castor declined to take action cited insufficient credible and admissible evidence at the time, but the current Montgomery District Attorney-Elect Kevin Steele filed charges of aggravated indecent assault and made the announcement at a press conference this morning.
“A prosecutor’s job is to follow the evidence wherever it leads and whenever it comes to light,” Steele said. “Upon examination of all the evidence, today we are able to seek justice on behalf of the victim.”
