Cedric the Entertainer will return as host of the fourth annual “The Greatest @Home Videos: Cedy Awards,” airing Friday, Sept. 18, from 8 to 9 p.m. ET/PT on CBS and streaming on Paramount+.
The special will honor viral and uplifting home videos with eight Cedy Awards across categories including Celebs, Creativity, Crazy, Fur Crazy, Kids Got Talent, Music & Moves, and Too Cute. Cedric will also spotlight some of his favorite uplifting clips of the year, with every featured entry treated as a winner in that category.
At the end of the broadcast, Cedric will select two favorite Cedy winners and leave the final choice to viewers. Fans will be able to vote live at thecedys.com to determine which finalist receives the Golden Cedy.
“The magic of this show is that it’s made by the viewers, for the viewers,” Cedric said. “It showcases genuine moments that run the gamut from laugh-out-loud funny to shedding a tear.”
The special will also feature appearances from several CBS personalities. Donnie Wahlberg of “Boston Blue” will highlight a Boston police officer whose viral video, featuring notable dance moves, is being considered in the Music & Moves category.
Jerry O’Connell of “Big Brother” will encourage viewers to stay tuned for “Big Brother: Unlocked,” which follows the Cedy Awards and will feature its own “BBs” awards. “Entertainment Tonight” hosts Kevin Frazier and Nischelle Turner will open the special with a preview of the night’s highlights.
For the first time, the Cedy Awards will expand globally. “The Amazing Race” host Phil Keoghan will take part by hand-delivering the Golden Cedy Award.
The program continues the franchise’s focus on everyday people, spontaneous humor, and memorable moments captured on phones nationwide.
“The Greatest @Home Videos — The Cedy” series is produced by Juma Entertainment and A Bird and a Bear Entertainment. Robert Horowitz, Peter J. DeVita, Cedric the Entertainer, and Eric Rhone are executive producers. Brett Jaffe is co-executive producer.
Paramount+ Premium subscribers can stream the special live through their local CBS affiliate feed and watch on demand. Essential subscribers will have on-demand access the day after the broadcast.
