Dillon Brooks Blasts LeBron James After Game 2 Win

“I don’t care, he’s old. I poke bears. I don’t disrespect no one until they come and give me 40 (points).”

Dillon Brooks had some words for LeBron James during last night’s matchup between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Memphis Grizzlies. The Grizzles had a six-point lead when James was able to knock down a midrange jumpsuit over Brooks. Quickly after the made shot, the two appeared to have exchanged some words on the floor before a timeout was called.

Even after the whistle, James seemed to have a few more words for Brooks. According to Brooks, James had called him “dumb” for picking up his fourth foul, which is why he fired back. “I let him know that you can’t take me one-on-one. You haven’t. You can go look at the film. He doesn’t really take me one on one until that moment.”

Brooks continued, “When I’m on that floor, you’re just another player to me. I don’t care who you are. You’re just 6-8, 270 pounds, and you’re a basketball player.”

To Brooks, basketball is basketball, regardless if you’re the all-time leading scorer, and the highly dubbed “King.” He’s still going to trash-talk. On Inside the NBA, Chuck also shared his reaction to the confrontation.
