Entrepreneur Dreka Gates has filed for divorce from rapper Kevin Gates, ending their 10-year marriage amid new attention sparked by influencer Brittany Renner’s recent claim that she was briefly married to the artist earlier this year.
Court documents filed on July 30, 2025, show Dreka, whose full name is Shadreka Centeno Haynes, cited “irreconcilable differences.” The couple, who married in October 2015, share two children: Islah, 12, and Khaza, 10. Dreka is requesting joint custody and spousal support.
The filing notes that the couple separated on July 10. It does not mention any other marriages or prior divorces involving Kevin Gates.
Renner, known for her social media presence and past fitness work, told REAL 92.3 LA in June that she married Gates under Islamic tradition from April 6 to May 28, 2025. She said the union was spiritual, included a traditional waiting period, and followed her conversion to Islam.
However, there is no public record of Kevin Gates divorcing Dreka before April. Under U.S. law, marriages must be licensed by the state to be legally valid. Without a divorce from Dreka, any marriage to Renner would likely not be recognized legally.
As of now, Gates has not publicly responded to the divorce or Renner’s marriage claims. Dreka’s filing marks a shift in a long partnership that mixed business, family, and public life.
