Editorial: A Few Words About The Jay-Z Allegations

Unless you have been off the internet the last few weeks, you may be aware of that Jay-Z had been added to a lawsuit filed by a Jane Doe accusing him and Diddy of sexually assaulting her when she was thirteen years old more than two decades ago.

In the last couple of days, the accuser’s account during an interview with NBC News was found to have as many inaccuracies as a Donald Trump quote. Even her lawyer, Tony Buzbee, is reportedly distancing himself from the vetting process in court documents.

But Before we get carried away by Jay-Z’s accuser’s story falling apart…

Let’s remember that three out of four women we know, love, and respect, have been victims of sexual offenses. While 2-8 percent are falsely reported (for clout, money grabs, good old-fashioned racism, etc.), another 92-98% were proven to be true.

92-98%.

So we can be happy that one of our favorites, and perhaps the most iconic and successful rapper of all time appears to be a victim of a false report, but we cannot and should not overlook the reality that a vast majority of women experience, including those we love.

Respectfully,

PS: To the “Black” media outlets who feverishly set aside their journalistic “ethics” to either feverishly relish in his embarrassment and/or the monetizing of slanted articles/think pieces, you are the reason that a lot of Black celebrities don’t fuck with us. You have no true concern for the culture if you are willing to help in the destruction of its creators and major contributors.
