Grammy-nominated artist Trey Songz was honored by The Recording Academy last night. On hand to present his award was mentor and manager, entertainment and media entrepreneur Kevin Liles, with Grammy Award-winning artist and friend Ne-Yo singing tribute.
The annual Recording Academy Honors celebrates outstanding individuals whose work embodies excellence and integrity and who have improved the environment for the creative community.
The event benefits advocacy, education and professional development programs of The Recording Academy New York Chapter.
This year’s honorees included Ashford & Simpson, Grammy-winning violinist Joshua Bell, Grammy-winning artist Melissa Etheridge, Grammy-winning creators of “Les Misérables” — Alain Boublil, Herbert Kretzmer and Claude-Michel Schönberg — and R&B singer/songwriter Trey Songz
