Rapper 50 Cent has escalated his feud with his ex-girlfriend, Daphne Joy, by filing a lawsuit accusing her of defamation. The legal action comes in response to Joy’s Instagram post in which she alleged that 50 Cent had raped and physically abused her.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, 50 Cent claims that Joy made these serious accusations after he announced his intention to seek sole custody of their son, Sire. The rapper asserts that Joy’s allegations were in retaliation for being labeled a “sex worker” in another lawsuit involving Diddy.
In his lawsuit, 50 Cent argues that Joy’s Instagram post, which garnered over 22,000 likes, led to a wave of negative online comments and severely damaged his business reputation and ongoing child custody case.
The legal dispute intensified when Joy allegedly refused to retract her statements despite a demand letter from 50 Cent’s lawyers. The rapper claims that Joy’s legal representatives responded by demanding millions of dollars from him and insisting he drop his custody suit.
Consequently, 50 Cent is seeking damages exceeding $1 million and a court order requiring Joy to remove her post and refrain from making further defamatory statements.
