The most important quality one must have to succeed is perseverance. It doesn’t matter how talented you are if you don’t show up for yourself. R&B singer Kaileah Mariee has continues to consistently release beautiful and timely music deserving of our support.

How has your musicality evolved since the last time we featured you?

I feel like I am finding my sound as an artist. Before I was just writing to any beat that I was giving, now I am being more decisive in what type of content I want to create. I’m exploring my creativity out loud, so to speak.

What was the inspiration for your latest single?

I was listening to my pastor’s online broadcast and it hit me to go back to my church roots to create a more inspirational song. Yes, R&B is good but sometimes it’s not what your soul needs at that certain moments. I called my producer (Jbeats), told him my idea and we went from there to make Sacrifice. It only took one day to make and I called Pastor Ceaser to see if he would be interested in collaborating on the track.

In what ways has COVID-19 impacted your creativity?

Since the world has been more at a standstill, I feel like I have more time to express my creativity. I randomly think of new music topics, get my voice recorder so I won’t forget the melody, and just let the magic flow.

How would you like your art to influence the culture?

My music connects the female audience through my (and my friends) personal experiences with life and relationships. I want my influence to affect the morality of people and to inspire them to express themselves freely with love.

In what other ways do you express yourself creatively?

I actually love crafting whether it’s party planning or fun hairstyles but I am actually working on starting a t-shirt business based on my twin girls who happen to be amazing drummers. You can follow them on IG: livi_n_addi😉

Looking back on your artistry, is there anything you would have done differently?

I’m a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. I would have gotten out of my head and actively started singing as a solo artist instead of trying to create a girl group in high school since no one had the same passion that I did. I am amazed and thankful for all of the musical connections that I have made this far and for future opportunities.

What can our readers expect from your next project?

Well, I have a few projects with visuals coming up within the year that I am excited about. One will include a collaboration with the amazing Darius Greer and hopefully with my brother King Cortez Beats(if he can take a break from producer lifestyle to record the track). But definitely be on the lookout for the new content by following my IG page: kaileah_mariee
