Janelle Monáe To Headline North to Shore Festival Performance at NJPAC

Singer, songwriter, actor, and performer Janelle Monáe will take the stage at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center on June 17 as part of the 2026 North to Shore Festival, organizers announced.

The performance is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in Prudential Hall at NJPAC and is expected to be one of the festival’s marquee events.

Monáe has earned acclaim for blending elements of funk, R&B, soul, hip-hop, pop, and science fiction-inspired storytelling throughout a career that has produced multiple Grammy Award nominations and critically praised albums. Her live performances are known for combining music, choreography, visual production, and theatrical elements.

Festival organizers said concertgoers can expect an evening featuring songs from across Monáe’s catalog, accompanied by a live band, stage production, and dance performances. The artist’s concerts often incorporate themes of identity, self-expression, and social change.

The appearance is part of the statewide North to Shore Festival, which brings music, comedy, film, community programming, and cultural events to Newark, Asbury Park, and Freehold throughout June.

Tickets for Monáe’s performance are on sale through the festival and NJPAC ticketing platforms.

The North to Shore Festival’s June lineup includes performances by Yellowcard, New Found Glory, Plain White T’s, The Black Crowes, Jimmy Eat World, Alison Krauss & Union Station featuring Jerry Douglas, Joe Bonamassa, The Head and the Heart, Earthquake, Marc Maron, Iliza Schlesinger, Jessica Kirson, David Cross, and many others.

Festival organizers encourage attendees to check the festival website and mobile app for schedule updates, ticket availability, and newly announced events.

Additional festival events include community discussions, dance parties, and free outdoor performances across participating venues. Visit the festival website www.northtoshore.com.
