Jazz Cruises LLC unveiled a new initiative dubbed Journey of Jazz ’25—a seven-day voyage exploring the harmonies of jazz, setting sail from Vancouver, BC, with layovers in Victoria, BC, and San Francisco, before docking in Los Angeles. Scheduled for September 12-19, 2025, the journey will unfold aboard the Celebrity Summit, featuring Marcus Miller and Gregory Porter as hosts, both esteemed figures familiar with Jazz Cruises’ circuits.

Miller, who has anchored close to 40 programs for Jazz Cruises, expressed his enthusiasm, noting the novelty of blending renowned jazz performances with the scenic allure of the Great Northwest and the San Francisco Bay Area.

The lineup boasts a constellation of celebrities, including Dee Dee Bridgewater, Chucho Valdes, Ron Carter, Cecile McLorin Salvant, and the Clayton Hamilton Jazz Orchestra, among others. Comedian Alonzo Bodden, recognized for his wit on NPR’s “Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me” show, will infuse the journey with his trademark humor.

For Porter, a multiple GRAMMY® Award recipient, this marks his inaugural hosting stint with Jazz Cruises. He extolled the program’s top-tier quality and eagerly anticipates steering this special cruise.

This marks the first time a Jazz Cruises venture has embarked from the West Coast since 2010. Michael Lazaroff, Executive Director of Jazz Cruises, LLC, emphasized the demand from patrons for a West Coast sojourn, underscoring the allure of traversing from Vancouver to Los Angeles with captivating stopovers en route.

Aside from the ship’s continuous melodic ambiance, Journey of Jazz ’25 offers guests enriching land-based excursions during halts in Victoria and San Francisco. Noted food critic Michael Bauer will curate culinary and oenophilic odysseys during the ship’s San Francisco leg, complemented by daytime concerts at the esteemed SFJAZZ venue.

Since its inception in 2001, Jazz Cruises, LLC has reigned as the premier purveyor of music cruises, boasting a portfolio that includes themed programs like The Jazz Cruise, Botti at Sea, and The Smooth Jazz Cruise. With over 80 full-ship charters and more than 170,000 guests, Jazz Cruises continues to set the gold standard for maritime musical escapades.
