In a recent legal development, Tasha K, the media personality, will not be able to escape paying the $4 million settlement she owes to Cardi B.

The judge overseeing the case has made a firm decision, rejecting Tasha K’s bankruptcy claim. This ruling marks a significant twist in the ongoing defamation case between the two prominent figures.

Last week, court documents were filed to confirm the judge’s decision. Tasha K’s attempt to discharge her $4 million settlement debt through bankruptcy has been denied, leaving her with the obligation to fulfill her financial commitment to Cardi B. This significant amount stems from a previous legal dispute between the two individuals.

However, the legal battle is far from over, as there remain lingering questions regarding Tasha K’s liability for an additional $500,000 in punitive damages, which are related to her company, Kebe Studios.

The court has yet to reach a final decision on this matter, and disputes surrounding these punitive damages continue to loom over the case.

Tasha K’s seven-figure debt arises from Cardi B suing her for defamation for posting several offensive video accusing the rapper of using drugs and having a sexually transmitted disease. A judge ruled that Tasha was responsible for defamation, invasion of privacy, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. Despite her efforts to evade payment, she was held accountable.

The next key milestone in this legal saga is a pretrial conference scheduled to take place in Florida on January 9. During this conference, the respective legal teams will have the opportunity to present their arguments, evidence, and counterclaims, shedding further light on the complex issues at hand.
